Co-Curricular meetings

The annual parent-student co-curricular meeting is required of all students participating in all activities (i.e. athletics, drama, music etc.). All students are required to attend any in-person meeting when they are new to a building, typically once in middle school and once in high school. This meeting can also be viewed online via the registration forms in each parent's Campus Parent account.

2026 FCPH Immunization Clinics information

Walk-in immunization clinics will be provided by Family HealthCare in August. No one will be turned away for not having insurance.

Senior Citizen Activity Pass

Residents of the Fargo School District who are 65 or older are eligible for a free Senior Citizen Activity Pass. Passes can be picked up at the Main Reception Desk at the District Office at 700 7th Street South. Please note: These passes are only for residents of the District and are not available for family members who are not residents. Non-residents can purchase tickets to each event or purchase an Adult Yearly Pass for $80 through the GoFan App.

Shelby DiFonzo Feature Column

Each year, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction releases a report called the Levels of Determination Report Card. This report looks at how school districts support students who receive special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. For the 2025–26 school year, Fargo Public Schools received a rating of Needs Assistance (NA1) with a total score of 9 points. While the report highlights areas that still need improvement, it also shows important growth in several key areas across the District.

Image of the 2027-28 Calendar

The Fargo Public Schools 2027-28 school calendar has been officially approved by the Fargo Board of Education. The calendar was developed by the FPS Calendar Committee over the course of multiple meetings. The committee examined multiple sources including community survey results to guide preferred start and end dates and whether or not to have a full-week spring break.

In times of financial pressure, balancing a school district budget requires thoughtful planning, careful prioritization, and continued focus on supporting students and staff. Like many other districts, Fargo Public Schools has worked through challenging budget decisions. An important part in understanding how we do this is recognizing that the District’s budget is not a single pool of dollars, but rather a collection of separate funds, each with specific purposes established by law.

Best Communities for Music Education image

Fargo Public Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for their outstanding support and commitment to music education. This award recognizes districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students. FPS has received this award for 17 consecutive years and 23 times overall.

NDDPI Logo with Summer EBT

Summer EBT will be available to eligible families in ND this summer. This program provides additional help for families with children to buy nutritious food when school is not in session. The benefit is $120 per eligible school-aged child and must be used within 122 days of issuance. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some will need to apply. Households already participating in SNAP,  FDPIR,  or TANF will be automatically enrolled in the Summer EBT  program. Households not automatically enrolled and may be eligible can apply for Summer EBT by filling out a simple application.

ECSE Logo

The Early Childhood Special Education program will have a new schedule in the 2026–27 school year. ECSE students will attend classes Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for screenings, evaluations, and Individualized Education Program meetings. Student session times will remain the same:

  • Morning Session: 8–10:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon Session: 12:10–2:40 p.m.

Human Performance with hand weights in the background

Human Performance gives students a supportive, hands-on environment to build strength, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits. The course blends age-appropriate weight training, cardio conditioning, mobility work, and practical lessons in nutrition and injury prevention. Students learn proper technique, improve overall fitness, and understand how to take care of their bodies in ways that support long-term wellness.

Special Education Parent Advisory Committee with FPS logo

Families play an important role in shaping the success of our schools, especially when it comes to supporting students served on Individualized Education Programs. One of the ways FPS brings families and school staff together is through the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee. Director of Student Support Services Shelby DiFonzo recently spoke with SEPAC Chairperson Katy Barnum to learn more about the committee.

Dr. Liann Hanson

Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, FPS students will have new opportunities during their middle school experience. These include World Language in sixth grade, a new Project-Based Learning course in seventh grade, and a High School Readiness course for all eighth grade students. These changes are designed to give students more opportunities to explore their interests, develop important skills, and prepare for high school and future career paths.

High School Physical Education is embarking on an innovative journey to transform the way students engage with their health and fitness with the Human Performance class, a newly developed program focused on lifelong personal wellness and fitness goal achievement. This inclusive class will be offered throughout the school day, ensuring accessibility for all students, while also providing targeted support for student athletes through sport-specific training.

Jolene Schue

FPS collaborates with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) to support students with disabilities in employment. VR is a program designed to support individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals. It helps individuals prepare for, secure, maintain, or advance in meaningful careers by providing resources, training, and guidance.
